Please be patient if you don't get an immediate reply - I'm sole owner and mod at present, and I'm taking part in a lot of other writing challenges, plus I do need to sleep occasionally ;)

Anyone interested in becoming a co-mod, please leave a comment below.

Also, anyone who would be interested in creating a community icon or two, please reply below, because I really do need something to pretty the place up! I'd like a general community icon and a community mod icon, I think.

I just thought of something.

If multiple drabbles are put in one post, does each one need its own header (if they're not part of one story)?

I would say so, yes, so people have some idea of what each is about. Probably, most people posting more than one in a post will be linking back from their journal and will just post a bunch of headers and links. I'll see how things go. If necessary I'll add that to the rules, though I'm hoping to avoid editing again unless I have to because of having to re-format the darn post on LJ. The gaps in the posting window get bigger and bigger just to keep a small space between rules o_O

It's just amazing to me that you're having such a rough time doing this; for me, it all seems so straightforward. I wonder why? To me, this site's the confusing one, with all the limits I can't work around. Like, the layout I'm using is the only one I found that I even remotely liked, and I can't do backgrounds on it, or anything. I guess it's all in what a person's used to.

Started watching the LJ version, and it was kinda scary to make that step.

...and apparently I'm wrong about being able to customize stuff over here; I've just found out how to change the background. O.o

Oh yay! So glad you found out how to fix some of what you don't like!

I looked over at LJ but couldn't find a way to change text size or colour on my chosen theme. =(

It's annoying because the white on green for comments is hard to read, but dammit, I won't give up my cows!

I don't know why LJ is such a beast with formatting, it's just always been that way. I copy and paste from word into the posting page on windows internet explorer, and all my paragraph spacings are gone. If I use google chrome (which I'm having to now because since LJ did whatever it did yesterday, my posting page doesn't say open when I try to post), I get to keep my spacing, but the text is shrunk to unreadable size. I honestly don't know which is worse! =(

That's odd. I agree; that is hard to read, especially being so small. Lemme see...just a sec...okay, apparently not all styles will allow changes in font size/color. One of my WIP communities is currently in Freshly Baked Bread, and that styleset doesn't permit it. Perhaps yours is one of the ones that doesn't.

Wow. O.o That is a serious pain in the ass. So that explains why some of your fics have different font colors and sizes, then; I'd always wondered about that. So you have a real struggle on your hands; I didn't know it could be so difficult. And you shouldn't have to give up your cows; you like them, they make you happy, so you should be able to adjust the rest of it accordingly. Maybe knowing CSS would help, but that sounds hard.

Yeah, it's such a pain, but the cows stay! I just increase the size on my internet window and then highlight comments to read them if I have to read on my journal. But the cows stay.

I don't even know much html, so learning CSS is pretty unlikely. Ah well.

Glad you at least can make the changes you want =D

Yes! The cows are--in yet another sense--sacred! No one messes with the cows!

OMG. I just figured out the CSS to give my layout a header image on LJ. Now I just gotta hope it doesn't give me away...

It gave the code, all prepared; all that needed to be done was to copy/paste into the CSS box, and replace the sample image URL with the URL of the desired image. I was shocked at what a cinch it was. I wouldn't have the guts to try anything else, though. Even trying it, I was still holding my breath. :)

Thanks for setting up this community! One small question – would you mind clarifying which warnings are needed? Things like rape/non-con are obvious, but I wouldn't have necessarily thought to warn for something like suicide. Also, is it OK to use a choose not to warn option?

I'm trying to keep things pretty relaxed, so basically if you think something may be a trigger you can warn for it, if you don't want to be specific you can say something like 'may contain triggers' or something like that.

It's also perfectly okay to use a 'choose not to warn' designation. I'm not going to be jumping down anyone's throat over warnings, I'm mostly leaving it to the writers' discretion.

With such short snippets there's little room to be horrifyingly graphic anyway. Coming up with the rules, I borrowed and adapted bits from other communities, so the warnings section is probably a bit of overkill and a lot less important than potential spoilers.

You're welcome, I just wanted somewhere drabblers of all fandoms could have fun writing, so I hope you're enjoying yourself with the prompts!

I'm just wondering if it would be okay to pimp our multifandom community here.

It's FFFC - we are at LJ for quite a while already but think it's about time to expand a bit. Now all we need is to get some users who are willing to play ;)

And you should join our comm. Like I said, it without any pressure; you can just jump in when a prompt / a challenge speaks to you and we don't expect novels as a fill; everything is okay.
