Summary: Tony is trying to help Bucky. Will Bucky let him?

The pile of blankets on the floor tells its own story. Tony lets his gaze sweep across them before they come to rest on the man curled into the corner as though hoping that will make him invisible.
Tony lets the door close behind him but he doesn't move any further into the room. He doesn't want to crowd Bucky. He waits but Bucky stays still. Encouraged Tony takes a step forward.
"How's the room?" Tony moves across the floor, keeping his distance. "It's a bit spartan. How about some art to brighten it up? I've got a Van Gogh."
Bucky says nothing.
"Not a fan of Van Gogh? That's understandable. You like Constable? I've got a couple of his."
There's a flash of something in Bucky's eyes. A reaction. Tony will take it.
"You haven't been using the bed." He's careful to keep any hint of censure out of his voice. "Isn't it comfortable?"
Bucky looks up at him and Tony feels a small surge of triumph. This is more interaction than he got yesterday or the day before.
"No... it's... it's fine."
Tony schools his face to stillness. "But you're not using it."
Bucky shakes his head, it seems no more words are forthcoming.
Tony sits down on the bed. Perched on the edge he removes his shoes. Then he swings his legs up and holds out his arms. The bed is more than big enough for two people. "How about we lie on it together."
Tony holds his breath. Will this work?
He closes his eyes, puts his head down on the pillow and waits. Across the room he can hear a faint rustle. The mattress dips a little beneath him and a head comes to rest on his shoulder.
Tentatively Tony wraps an arm around Bucky.
