Tag for fandom: the raven tower coming right up.

It's a fantasy novel by Ann Leckie (who also wrote the Imperial Radch books). It's based on a Shakespeare play, but the plot is not at all predictable. Several of the characters are gods, with an interestingly nonhuman way of thinking about things, and you get a bunch of stories about how gods interact with mortals and how this ends well or badly for either of them, or philosophizing about the scope and limits of gods' power. One of the main characters is a god in the shape of a giant rock. :) There are human characters too, who are very human in terms of their emotions and ambitions and loyalties . . . I think it's a really cool book!

It sounds very cool, I might see if I can get a copy... As if I haven't got enough books waiting to be read already.

You're never alone with a book though, so I guess we have the right idea.
